Necklace
Minutes to create: 20
Supplies needed:
Wire, 2 crimps, 2 crimp covers, lobster clasp, 30 bugle beads, 14 diamond paua shell beads and paua pendant.
1
.
Cut a piece of wire 28" long using your side cutter pliers.
2
. Fold wire in half and string the folded end through the pendant hole. Pull the cut ends through the folded end opening and pull tight against the pendant.
3
. String beads in the following order on one side of the pendant: gold bugle & diamond paua shell bead. Repeat this 6 times. Add 8 more bugle beads.
4
. Thread a crimp bead onto the end of your wire you've just beaded, followed by one end of your lobster clasp. Loop your wire back through the crimp bead leaving a ½- ¾ inch tail of wire. Flatten crimp using your bent nose pliers or crimp tool. Make sure crimp is completely flattened and wire cannot slip through. Trim wire. Cover crimp with crimp cover and close gently with pliers.
5
. Repeat stringing process on other side of pendant to mirror first side.
6
. To finish your necklace, thread a crimp bead onto the wire, add the other end of the lobster clasp, loop the wire back through the crimp bead. Flatten your crimp using pliers or crimp tool and trim excess wire. Cover crimp with crimp cover and close gently with pliers.
